Liquid Solid (2020)

Waves of small coloured glass pieces weave across screen. Shapes appear, merge, and disintegrate. There are patterns in the disorder. Some pieces that are hard-edged become soft. From the chaos a form is created.

Liquid Solid was inspired by the work of Amanda’s mother Emma, a stained glass artist. More of Emma’s work can be seen at www.ebcaglass.com

Originally commissioned by Visible Fictions, ‘Liquid Solid’ screened online at several festivals throughout 2020 and 2021, including Encounters Film Festival, Manipulate, and Sheffield Christian Film & Media Festival where it won Best Film 2020. In 2021 ‘Liquid Solid’ screened at Un Festival C’est Trop Court! as part of the Experience competition.

Dreid (2014)

A king must learn to persevere to overcome his fear.

Inspired by the legend of Robert the Bruce and the Spider, with a new twist to the tale! This short animation was hand drawn, then scanned, painted and composited with Toon Boom Harmony. The backgrounds were painted in Photoshop.

A bird who just wants to rest has trouble with a noisy neighbour.

This short animation was made in Flash and Photoshop, then composited in After Effects.
