About

Hello! My name is Amanda.

I’m a storyboard artist based in the Scottish Borders.

Recently I was a storyboard artist on the BAFTA Scotland-winning 2D show The Brilliant World of Tom Gates, and new CG show Toad & Friends, both at Scottish studio Wild Child Animation.

I love bringing stories to life across various mediums: I’ve worked on TV shows, shorts, music videos, and features across animation and live action. Projects include a pilot episode on Super Happy Magic Forest for Tiger Aspect, song sequence animatics for feature-in-development Unstable, and thumbnails and pitch boards for live action feature The Gaelic King.

I was also a clean up artist on Netflix’s Oscar-nominated Klaus, and an inking and coloring assistant on Pablo Berger’s Robot Dreams.

Each year since its first in 2017 I’ve attended or volunteered at Move Summit, the animation conference in Edinburgh. In 2023 I was the volunteer coordinator. I also enjoy running traditional animation workshops for teens and adults, and encouraging greater draftsmanship through study such as gesture drawing.

I like to spend my free time reading, watching films, and walking the hills around my home with my dog, Piper. When Piper lets me I like to visit museums and galleries, and explore new places!

My short film Liquid Solid was selected for Depict! and Encounters Film Festival in 2020, and Manipulate and Un Festival C’est Trop Court! in 2021.

Currently I’m part of a WIA Mentor Circle, mentored by Mark Osborne (Kung Fu Panda, The Little Prince), which supports the development of my new short film Kinsey’s Sword.
