All In Gesture – Jane

All In Gesture – Jane

It's been great to get back to gesture drawing, and what a session to do it with! Jane's a wonderful character. I loved exploring some of the situations from Tarzan - and now I know what I'm watching tonight!

All In Gesture – Rapunzel

All In Gesture – Rapunzel

Rapunzel from Tangled is such a fun character. The addition of a frying pan prop was an excellent touch! I felt out of my depth with this one - I may need to redo the class sometime. But despite some wonky drawings I enjoyed taking part!

All In Gesture – Cruella

All In Gesture – Cruella

Another session from the archives! Some of my drawings lean more towards the Cruella of the animated movie, others more towards the model. Either way the poses were great fun. She's a wonderfully mad villain.

All In Gesture – Tinkerbell

Drawing Tinkerbell was a good challenge! This All In Gesture class took place near the beginning of the summer, but I just now got around to drawing from it. The poses were excellent, and it was fun trying to capture the animated character rather than the model.

Character Sketching – Alameda Slim

Character Sketching – Alameda Slim

Last week's CTN On Model sketching session featured Jonnathon as Alameda Slim, the villain from Home on the Range. I've only seen the film once so I don't know the character very well. At first I really struggled to figure out how his head connects to his neck! By the...

Character Sketching – Maleficent

Character Sketching – Maleficent

I've admired artists who turned their life drawing sketches into characters for years, but though I've used my drawings as inspiration for characters I've never, until now, drawn a model and drawn a character at the same time. It's tough. But it's fun! With so much...
