One of the last times I was up in Edinburgh I sketched these at the museum in Chambers Street. Though I took no notes on colour at the time, thankfully National Museums Scotland has a searchable database – it’s fantastic for research.

Life drawing! I still haven’t managed to get any more newsprint, but I used an A3 pad of layout paper instead and it worked well. I was very rusty as I began to draw last night. It took me a while to loosen up. I’ve barely sketched this week – what a difference it makes!
